Women's Center

The Women’s Center supports the University’s mission to advance gender equity through education, institutional advocacy and support services. The Women’s Center runs educational programs throughout the year including the Violence Against Women Prevention Program, the Women’s Advance Conference, and the Outstanding Senior Women Academic Achievement Awards. The Women’s Center also assists students and faculty with sexual violence crisis intervention, gender discrimination, and domestic violence.

Student Health and Wellness - LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader

Student Health and Wellness (SHaW) has been recognized as a Human Rights Campaign (HRC) LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader. SHaW strives to provide personalized care to people of all genders and sexualities and provides services with LGBTQ+ students in mind. These services include chest and pelvic exams, hormone prescriptions, family planning services, PrEP, and gender affirmation support.

Violence Against Women Prevention Program (VAWPP)

The Violence Against Women Prevention Program (VAWPP) is a series of workshops run by the UConn Women’s Center to address and prevent all forms of sexual violence through education, outreach and advocacy. VAWPP facilitators guide on-campus student dialogues defining and explaining sexual harassment and sexual assault, provide university resources, and encourage people to talk about these problems.
