Kate Larson

Sustainability Intern

Office of Sustainability

Kate Larson is a sophomore Chemistry major and Climate Science minor, passionate about the intersection of science, sustainability, and community. Through various projects across campus, Kate has learned about the importance of collaborative and interdisciplinary science, especially for solving global problems like climate change. Eager to contribute to climate solutions, Kate is interested in the avenues between chemistry and climate science (ranging from geochemistry to sustainable energy). Kate was previously an Outreach Intern for the Office of Sustainability before continuing her role with the office as a Sustainability Intern. She’s also collaborated on UConn’s move-out donation program, Give&Go. Notably, Kate is involved in undergraduate research in the chemistry department, where she works on organic synthesis and studies luminescent elements. She is also on the executive board of both Chemistry Club and the UConn Green Chemistry Initiative. When she’s not in the lab or at the Office of Sustainability, you will most likely find her out hiking, watching women’s basketball, and drinking lots of iced coffee.
