Juan Pineda is a Junior from Milford, CT double majoring in Economics and Environmental Science with a concentration in Sustainable Systems. He is a Resident Assistant at Northwest and a CAPS Research Apprentice working alongside the Material Science Department. This past summer, Juan worked as Research Intern for the Yale School of Public Health; contributing to a project named “Breathe Haven” helping homes dealing with indoor air pollutants. Back home, Juan enjoys relaxing by the beach and going on walks by the boardwalk connecting two beaches in his hometown. In his free time, he enjoys concerts, he’s seen TV Girl, Clairo, and Mt. Joy, and looking forward to see Steve Lacy in October. Also, he loves to thrift, staying active from running to lifting in the gym, hanging out with friends, and hiking trails. Juan is excited for his first year as a Sustainability Outreach Intern and hopes to spread the OS’s message, and help develop more friendly sustainable initiatives to students!
