Jackie Flaherty is a senior from Killingworth, Connecticut pursuing a dual degree in marketing and urban and community studies with a minor in geographic information science. This past summer, Jackie was a Sustainable CT Fellow in the South Central Regional Council of Governments, where she engaged with local municipalities to promote and recognize sustainable initiatives. At UConn, Jackie is involved in EcoHusky and is a copy editor for The Daily Campus. She has also engaged in environmentalism on campus as an intern at the Office of Sustainability, where she creates digital media content, organizes events, and furthers sustainable university initiatives. She is especially interested in using social media as a tool to promote environmental literacy and raise awareness of sustainability issues. Following graduation, Jackie hopes to pursue a career in urban planning with a focus in sustainable design. She is excited to learn about international climate solutions at COP29 and how local action can contribute to these goals. In her free time, Jackie enjoys baking, biking, and battling her sisters in Just Dance.
