Dylan Steer
Senior Sustainability Intern
COP29 Fellow
Office of Sustainability
Dylan is a senior honors student from Stratford, Connecticut majoring in environmental studies and political science with a minor in Middle Eastern studies. He has long been interested in the intersections of politics and sustainability, with a belief that the climate crisis will define this century and that we must do all that we can to stop its worst effects before it is too late. Dylan became involved in sustainability after he joined the environmental club EcoHusky at UConn as a first year. Dylan is now the President of EcoHusky and became involved in the activist space at UConn as a co-founder and organizer of Fossil Fuel Free UConn (FFFU) coalition in 2022. FFFU fights for the divestment from fossil fuels, decarbonization of campus, and the disclosure of progress on the aforementioned demands. Dylan’s other club affiliations include the Pokémon Go Club where he serves as Treasurer and the Turkish Student Alliance which he co-founded and served as Vice President. Dylan also sits on the President’s Carbon Reduction Working Group which operates through UConn Facilities. In his Junior year, Dylan became a Sustainability Intern at the UConn Office of Sustainability where he works to promote sustainable dining and plan sustainability events. During the last two summers, Dylan has worked as a Fellow with Sustainable CT where he worked to implement sustainable policy at the municipal level. At COP29, Dylan is excited to discuss decarbonization and sustainable transit with policy makers from around the world. In his free time, Dylan enjoys video games, photography, and playing board games with friends.
