Arden Amarelo

Outreach Sustainability Intern, East

Office of Sustainability

Arden Amarelo is a junior Environmental Science & Health major from East Providence, Rhode Island. Arden was first drawn to Environmental Health after watching Josh Fox’s “GasLand,” witnessing the suffering of innocent civilians due to the negligence of fracking companies. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Arden plans to attend law school to specialize in Environmental and Toxic Tort Law, with the goal of defending clients harmed by toxic substances. Over the summer, Arden interned with the UConn Technical Assistance to Brownfields (TAB) Program, assisting with the investigation, cleanup, and redevelopment of abandoned, potentially contaminated sites across New England. During her free time Arden enjoys reading, cooking, and playing video games. As a Sustainability Outreach Intern for the Office of Sustainability at UConn, Arden hopes to help students reduce their environmental footprint on and off campus.
