Portrait of Alex Gannuscio

Alexander Gannuscio began working at the Institute of the Environment at UConn to help coordinate the operations of its subdivisions, among them the Office of Sustainability. He comes to the Office of Sustainability with years of experience working in large universities, both as an instructor and administrator. As such, he has worked directly with students and encourages an interdisciplinary approach to studies that integrate the theoretical with the practical. Before coming to UConn, he taught courses in Spanish Language and Literature, Rhetoric and Writing, and English Literature at Cornell University. As an administrator he has worked with students and faculty to coordinate many study abroad programs and encourages all students to experience living abroad at least once. Alex holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Hartford, an MSt in Modern Languages and Literatures from the University of Oxford, and PhD in Romance Studies from Cornell University.
