7,240 lbs (or 3.62 tons) of donations were collected for over 20 local agencies and non-profit organizations for Give & Go 2016.

Give & Go 2015

8,687 lbs (or 4.34 tons) of donations were collected for over 20 local agencies and non-profit organizations for Give & Go 2015. Major categories of items collected included:

  •  1,727 lbs of area rugs
  • 1,836 lbs of appliances
  • 1,275 lbs of clothing
  • 832 lbs of non-perishable foods
  • 312 lbs of office supplies
  • 49 lbs of toiletries
  • 338 lbs of household items
  • 634 lbs of bedding
  • 166 lbs of books

Give & Go 2014

9,838 lbs of donations were collected for over 20 local agencies and non-profit organizations. The donations for 2014 included:

  • 1,365 lbs of furniture
  • 1,230 lbs of area rugs
  • 1,967 lbs of appliances
  • 2,157 lbs of clothing
  • 832 lbs of non-perishable foods
  • 205 lbs of office supplies
  • 176 lbs of toiletries

Give & Go 2013

5,336 lbs of donations were collected for various local agencies and non-profit organizations. The donations for 2013 included:

  • 255 lbs of non-perishable foods

Give & Go 2012

10,767 lbs of donations were collected for 20 local agencies and non-profit organizations. Some of the major categories of donations included:

  • 1,164 lbs of clothing
  • 758 lbs of food

Give & Go 2010

14,137 lbs of donations were diverted from the dumpsters by 300+ volunteers logging 750+ volunteer hours at 15 different collection points!

Moreover, 23 different Connecticut non-profit organizations and town agencies received donations from the program

Move Out Campaigns 2004-2008

Program History

At the conclusion of the Spring 2004 semester, the Outreach Subcommittee of the Environmental Policy Advisory Council (EPAC) organized a "Move Out" campaign for the Hale, Ellsworth and Hilltop residence halls. As a result of the Move Out, over 2500 lbs. of clothing, goods and non-perishable food that otherwise would have entered the trash stream was "saved" and donated to the Windham Area Interfaith Ministry, the Coventry Soup Kitchen, and soldiers stationed overseas in Iraq.
