Clara Minor
Thrift Den Intern
Office of Sustainability
Clara Minor is a junior communications major with a minor in business and a Thrift Den Intern at the Office of Sustainability (OS). Clara’s passion for fashion has sparked her interest in the environmental impact of the industry, particularly the waste generated by fast fashion. Motivated to address this issue, Clara co-founded a student-run thrift store at UConn that promotes sustainable fashion and encourages secondhand shopping as a eco-friendly alternative.
To further expand her knowledge and fuel her passion she has joined the UConn Fashion Society e-board to further educate herself and share her insights with others. Additionally, her involvement in the Marketing Society has allowed her to connect her understanding of consumer behavior to the work of the organizations she supports.
Clara’s interests now center around sustainability, fashion, and marketing, particularly in ways they can intersect to create a more sustainable campus. She is excited to continue her contributions to UConn’s sustainability efforts and collaborate with the Office of Sustainability on initiatives that promote positive change.
