Row of Seeds2Sustain student hydroponic gardens

Seeds2Sustain

Seeds2Sustain is a 9-week non-credit program that is free and open to students of all majors/backgrounds, including both undergraduate and graduate students. During the program, students can learn about a range of topics, such as food insecurity, agricultural technology, and hydroponics. Students will hear from guest speakers on nutrition, industrial scale hydroponic farming, and more. Throughout the program, students care for their own miniature hydroponic system; at the end of the course, they harvest their herbs and vegetables and participate in a free cooking class with UConn Dining Services. After graduation from the program, students keep their hydroponic systems along with a year's worth of supplies to keep the systems going. Seeds2Sustain is available on at the Storrs and Stamford campuses.
