Sreya Mothukuri
Sustainability Intern
Office of Sustainability
Sreya Mothukuri is a sophomore from Fairfield, Connecticut majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in Chemistry and Molecular & Cell Biology on the pre-medical track. She is interested in learning about how environmental impacts affect human health and in exploring the intersection of medicine, healthcare, and sustainability. This past summer, she was a Sustainable CT Intern in the Western Council of Governments (WestCOG), where she worked as a project manager to support towns with their Sustainable CT applications, assist with COG projects, and learn about the sustainability initiatives towns are pursuing. At UConn, she is involved with EcoHusky, and outside of school she is passionate about environmental advocacy. She has testified at the Connecticut State Capitol during Environmental Committee meetings, spoken at press conferences, and observed the legislative process firsthand. In her hometown, she is a Sustainable Fairfield Intern, where she supports local sustainability initiatives such as working on pollinator parks, selling composting kits, organizing events for legislators to connect with community members, and more. In her free time, Sreya enjoys baking, kayaking, and playing viola. At the Office of Sustainability, she is excited to engage in the UConn community through on-campus initiatives, help raise awareness about environmental health issues, and promote sustainability on campus.
