Brett Hurley

Brett Hurley is a second-year student at the University of Connecticut School of Law. His interest in the environment began in his high school’s environmental science class and continued throughout college with a particular focus on clean water and energy. Brett completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Connecticut, majoring in Environmental Science and Political Science. His senior thesis explored the decarbonization plans of the electrical sectors of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. While at UConn Law, Brett has continued to learn about energy and environmental issues and is the current Vice President of the Energy and Environmental Law Society. Last Summer, Brett interned with the Connecticut Office of the Attorney General in the Environment Section, working to protect the state’s environment through litigation. At COP30, he hopes to learn more about countries’ plans to decarbonize their electrical sectors and gain a deeper understanding of international environmental law.
