Ayesha Momand is a freshman at the University of Connecticut, majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Environmental Studies at the Hartford campus. She is on the pre-dental track and plans to attend dental school after graduation. Her passion for climate justice began in high school, where she partnered with Yale URI to plant trees throughout New Haven and raise environmental awareness. She is particularly interested in sustainability and the impact of climate change and emissions on human health, as well as how environmental justice can help mitigate these effects. Ayesha is excited to represent UConn Hartford and inspire its student body to become more environmentally conscious. Through her work with the Office of Sustainability, Ayesha hopes to contribute to UConn’s efforts toward carbon neutrality.
