Andy Zhang is a junior at the University of Connecticut studying economics and environmental sciences. Passionate about progressive policy and food advocacy, Andy is dedicated to pursuing a career focused on creating equitable and sustainable food systems through innovative policy solutions.
On campus, Andy is actively involved in various sustainability initiatives. He contributes to the university’s annual UI GreenMetric submission, with the most recent submission earning UConn the title of “Second Most Sustainable University in the United States.” He also serves on the UConn Arboretum Committee, where he works with the Tree Warden to complete our annual Tree Campus USA report and plan our annual class tree planting event. Beyond sustainability reporting, Andy focuses on community building through the ECollaboration Sustainability Network, working to engage students, faculty, and staff in collective sustainability efforts.
