Tip of the Week

Reduce Pesticide Usage by Using the Right Plants

Selecting plants that are appropriate for your landscape can help to reduce the need for pesticides.

Locating a shade-loving plant in full sun, for example, can weaken the plant and make it more suseptible of insects or diseases. Rather than apply pesticides to address the insect or disease problem, simply moving the plant to a more natural habitat - in this case shady - can strengthen the plant and make it less prone to pest problems.
