Educational Demonstration Sites

These sites are open to the public for viewing at any time. In addition, educational programs are scheduled for more structured learning opportunities.

Sustainable Gardens

Norwich Rain Garden

This rain garden is located at the Norwich Extension Center and is designed to capture excess rain water from the Center's roof before it flows off the property. The rain water is directed into a depression in the ground where a mix of plants absorbs some of the the excess water as well as processes excess nutrients. The water eventually soaks into the grounds where it becomes part of the groundwater system.
